Arolla
View of Mont Collon

At the very bottom of the valley, crowned by a small glacier, Mont Collon rises to an altitude of 3,637 metres. The two glaciers flanking it to the east and west together form the Arolla Glacier. It is from this vast glacier, covering some 12 km², that the Borgne d’Arolla emerges; this torrent then joins the Borgne de Ferpècle near Les Haudères, flows through the Val d’Hérens and empties into the Rhône in the lowlands.
