Monastery of Saint John the Theologian

This monastery, built around 1182 and abandoned in 1964, belonged to the monastery of the same name on Patmos. It stands just beyond the entrance to the archaeological site and now houses the teams of archaeologists working there. One of its rooms hosts an interesting exhibition on the history, architecture and excavations at the site.
