This dead-end ‘Bishop Road’ does not lead to a bishop’s palace but to a beautiful hotel whose terrace and car park overlook the valley, offering a breathtaking view of the mountains rising up on the right bank of the Borgne d’Arolla, a torrent fed by the glaciers that close off the valley. This ‘Bishop’ is a mountain (‘L'Evêque’) rising in the far south at an altitude of 3,716 metres, somewhat hidden behind Mont Collon.
