Heraklion

With its international airport and large port, Heraklion is, of course, the obvious gateway to Crete. Having suffered from chaotic urban development following the widespread destruction of the Second World War, the city struggles to hold on to visitors, even though its ugliness belies a number of attractions. We’ve only shot there some short series of panoramas to give you an idea of what there is to discover, but there are plenty of other places well worth a visit.
