This old Valaisan hamlet, at the gates of Sierre, was once a pied-à-terre for the inhabitants of the Anniviers Valley (Val d'Anniviers), who were nomads and commuted according to seasons between their vineyards in the plains and livestock and agriculture in the mountains. Nowadays, it has become a quiet suburb of Sierre, in the middle of the vineyards, where two good restaurants almost adjacent to each other share a friendly village life. On the satellite map, the large Sierre-Rossfeld shopping area and the motorway entrance can be seen to the east, two nearby assets that cause no inconvenience to the village.
