Seen from afar, the capital of the Valais is an impressive sight, with its hills rising out of the plain. Up close, you discover a bustling modern town that has managed to preserve its historic heritage in a particularly well-preserved old town. In addition to the castles of Valère and Tourbillon perched on their hills, you can admire many old buildings and lose yourself in picturesque streets.
